The Silent Horn Foundation was established in the United Kingdom (August 2013) and a registered NGO in Somalia (May 2017), organised by a Board of Manager (see diagram 2a). The function of the Board, (see Appendix 1) is to provide expertise, governance and oversight to the running and activities of the Silent Horn Foundation (see the expenses table in Appendix 2).
International activist advocating for Deaf school education. Expert in disability advocacy, media awareness campaigning, community empowerment and education outreach programs.
GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVE FOR DEAF PEOPLE
International government representarive helping and encouraging Deaf people. Expert in disability advocacy, awareness in Deaf culture and sign language, projects to Deaf community and fighting for the access in schools and hospitals.
Leyla Muhiddin Jeilani
Support learning activities in schools and universities, have the ability to work with individual pupils, groups of children or, on occasion, a whole class. Expert in supporting the people across a range of abilities as well as undertaking duties that free up a teacher’s time, such as preparing the classroom.
Luul Osman Del
Communication with both Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and business administration of the organisation. Expert in teaching the Deaf people sign language skills (American Sign Language), attending all schools to ensure the curriculum is matching to Deaf people.
Mohamud Ali Jama
Developing Deaf communication, promoting the information to Deaf community and assisting poor and uneducated people.
ADMINSTRATIVE OFFICE ASSISTANT
Sorting out the applications on Microsoft Office, typing the information on reports for the conferences, write the letters to the organisations and businesses, organise and store paperwork, documents and computer-based information, liaise with team members to external contacts and finally, organise travel for the team members.
Helping the team by making telephone calls, also translating the information from English to Somali language, assisting the team in the meetings, spread awareness to hearing people and travelling to Somalia for the fundraising with the team.

Ibrahim Osman Mohamed
Producing the ideas, designing the clothes and taking photos of all events and activities of the organisation.
The Silent Horn Foundation Board Members are all successful, productive and hardworking leaders of actions within their own fields and bring enriched experiences to bring to the organisational support of Samira Duale’s THE SILENT HORN FOUNDATION in its ideology to bring about the access of Deaf education in Somalia and internationally.
The functions of the board include:
- Development of the Foundation’s direction and policy, proposals and partnerships.
- Management of the Foundation’s voluntary and salaried staff.
- Strategic short, mid and long-term goals with importance on local and international governance.
